This is the story of my miracle dog Gigi Catanese
My Maltese dog who is now 11 years old. Gigi is a survivor of an auto-immune disease called IMHA. With time her body has reversed the effects of the disease on the Immune system. How? Gigi was diagnosed with IMHA (immune-mediated hemolytic anemia) when she was 6 years old. With primary IMHA, your dog’s immune system mistakenly produces antibodies that attack its own red blood cells.
When Gigi was first diagnosed, we took her to doctors and specialists from Auburn veterinary university to VRCC, veterinary specialty & emergency hospital in Colorado, Alabama and Florida. Gigi was given 48 hours to live with western medicine. The IMHA destroyed her red blood cells weekly, we turned to holistic alternatives; a full raw healthy diet, eastern medicines and the use of the cannabis hemp plant. We had one hope left. We moved Gigi to Colorado and turned to holistic medicine and the use of the cannabis hemp plant.
Using the natural benefits of medicinal hemp cannabis, we saw her body start to react to the Cannabinoids we were giving her. In 6 months we saw the real turn, Gigis body started to reverse the effects of the auto-immune disease on her own (which we were told could not happen) she started regenerating her own red blood cells again. Within time she regenerated back up to normal levels. We then took her off the auto-immune medications.
